so while on spring break matthew met me down in miami and looked at venues. before he got there i interviewed a couple wedding planners and we did one interview together. after much convening here are the winners from spring break (funny stories on how these decisions were made and site visit stories will be included whenever i get my friggin camera charger (mom!)
we have a day, and are officially in the books at CHURCH OF THE LITTLE FLOWER:

here's the view from outside:
it's super old spanishy architecture. i came here for easter mass when i was like seven and there's a pipe organ and i remember thinking this is most definitely where i need to get married.
here's a picture of a pretty fountain you see driving up:

theyre hilarious though because theyre super nazi about everything. matthew and i have to sign a kissing agreement which says that the "sight and sound" of the kiss cannot be offensive to the priest. there is a dress agreement that says my dress and no one elses dress can be backless or show cleavage or they will be seated in the back (this includes bridesmaids.) i cannot be late. the mass has to start promptly and i can't put the wrong time on the invitations because that makes the church look bac. if any of these things are not followed they kick us out of the church after the mass and can't have pictures. i know lots of people who this would anger but i think little flower and i are on the same page. our marraige mass is a mass, its about God, not about sweet dresses or grand entrances, it's religious.
this is the inside/alter:

isn't it absolutely positively beautiful and amazing?
remember you CANT be late!
so be there

matthew and i will be getting married!
they already sent me the book with the scriptures that we get to choose from. matthew keeps asking if we can have the one where goliath gets killed by a lion but for obvious reasons that is not possible.some of the scripture though is wack. it's either all about how glorious the girl is or how great it is for a man to have a wife or how he one one.
some of it however is beeeautiful <3
loove song of songs.
for the reception we decided/fell in love with GROVE ISLE!

it's so floridian and in such a special spot and not far from the church at all and it's just perfect. when we were there it just felt like our wedding which was the best feeling.
here is the view as you walk around the island to get to the cocktail reception area:

here is where the cocktail reception will be. under that tenty looking thing is an airconditioned deck. we won't have the cermony here so those chairs and hoopa wont be there but if you look in the background you can see mercy hospital where i was born!

here is the cuuuutest photo of a wedding at grove isle and i want this picture of me and matthew.

i'll leave out inside shots since the inside of the hall is ugly ugly ugly and thankfully is getting redone and if we don't like it will be heavily under disguise (more on that later.)
if you want to see more of what it looks like here's a slide show from a really pretty wedding there: http://ambrosioblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/forblog.jpg
we also decided on a wedding planner. her name is guerdy, her company is divine design by guerdy inc. her website is http://www.designbyguerdy.com/.
matthew and i met her at grove isle actually and she's worked with victor, the event coordinator at grove isle, before and she like pegged me and matthew immediately and she was super fun!
after some jokery and lotsa research i also pinned down more what i want the bridesmaid dresses to look like. if you google "rachel bilson bridesmaid" you'll see lotsa these pictures but :

i think this is closer to what i'll be doing for my beautiful friends. variations on the same shade and some difference in the detailing- like here there's a sash that rachel bilson ties around her waist, one uses as a shawl, one uses as a criss cross strap, and the other fashions into normal straps. also look at the dreamy fabric.
i thought wedding dress shopping for me would be super easy and fun but that is not the case. i have mulled over like hardcore what the heck to do- lace or beading or mermaid or a-line or ballgown... too many options. now that we're set on grove isle i know i want to kinda want to look like a mermaid. i also realized after trying some dresses on i dont think i'll feel like im getting married unless im wearing lace. and i really want a colored sash. hopefully leanne marshall decides she can design everything for like super low cost and then all my problems will be solved.
i have also kinda come up with a decor theme but i dont have any pictures to show for it so i will leave that for later. anyways, i hope you've enjoyed the update- i'm sure my senior design group is not happy with me spending all this time away from our project.
Odi its beautiful!!! All of it! The church is so quaint and cute haha. I'm with matt on the Goliath story lmao. Go figure he would want that lol.
